Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 oz steeped chamomile tea
  • 2 oz warm water
  • 6 oz honey
  • 2 oz gin
  • ¾ oz grapefruit juice
  • Ice
  • salt for garnish
Tea has been on the drink scene for a quite some time and it's been used to celebrate, gather, soothe and nourish. Plot twist, it does fantastic in a cocktail year round. As we settle into the cold winter months, adding a soft chamomile tea to gin makes for the perfect cozy companion. When we steep tea and let it chill, it’s almost as if the flower's flavor is accentuated even more...not to mention, honey makes for an excellent sweetener whether served cold or hot. This elegant cocktail brings a new meaning to the martini or as I like to say mar-tea-ni. Needless to say, I’m welcoming the chill with open arms (and a cocktail in hand).

Instructions

Step 1
Steep your chamomile tea, then remove the teabag and let it cool.

Step 2
Make honey syrup by combining water and honey, then stirring until combined.

Step 3
Add tea, homemade honey syrup, gin, grapefruit juice and ice into a cocktail shaker and shake well. Double strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a pinch of salt.
